Flexible Galaxy S III, iPhone 5 could copy
The Galaxy S 2 is considered to be a huge success, but how can Samsung top it next year? Well one way is with a flexible Galaxy S III, and because Apple uses Sammy for some of their components there is no reason why the iPhone 5 cannot have the same kind of design. However, this could open up a whole can of worms between the two companies.
Samsung is not the first phone maker to show off flexible displays, but you know that once they are focused on something they will become the biggest. The technology was shown off earlier this year during CES 2011, but PC World believes that it will start to be used on devices in 2012.
We have taken a stab in the dark that the Galaxy S III could offer a flexible design, but we cannot help but think that the technology still has a way to go. You only have to look at the current batch of smartphones, they struggle to last a day even with a battery the size they are.
Let’s be more sensible about this, Samsung will come out with a flexible display next year, but they will only be used on an ePaper or maybe even a TV.

iOS 5 Location Based Reminders Limited to iPhone 4S and iPhone 4
Apple’s iOS 5 brings more than 200 new features to iOS devices. The software update supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, third and fourth gen iPod touch, first and second gen iPad. However, it’s worth noting that not all new features are compatible with the previous generation devices.
The new reminders app Apple introduced in iOS 5 allows you to create a list of tasks that you’d like to be reminded about. There are many third party apps available in the App Store that offer almost similar or more functionality however, the highlight of the app is location based reminders.
Apple’s reminders app allows users to set a geo-fence and be reminded about a task when they arrive or leave a particular location. When we were testing the iOS 5 beta builds the feature existed on all devices. As the final version of iOS 5 was shipped we noticed that the location based reminders were not available on iPad, iPod touch and iPhone 3GS.
After going through the release notes and contacting AppleCare it was revealed that Apple does not support the location based reminders on iPod touch, iPad or iPhone 3GS. The feature is exclusive to iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
Siri is exclusively available on iPhone 4S even though a few hacks have suggested that it can very well run on previous generation devices. Location based reminders not being present on WiFi iPad, iPod touch is understandable. However, the functionality being absent in WiFi+3G iPad and iPhone 3GS further suggests that Apple will continue to differentiate its iOS devices by limiting certain functionality even though the hardware is capable.

Bendable iPhone 5 would change mobile gaming
If Apple launched a bendable display on the iPhone 5 or 6, and parked this with iOS 5/6, then we could have something very special for mobile gaming, thanks to the amount of games on the App Store and a larger screen that could easily fit in your pocket, unlike the iPad.
We know that these bendable devices will be coming soon, it was only a week ago or so that Nokia mentioned it’s look into the future with a phone / tablet that could bend in all directions, it will allow users to bend downwards to zoom or scroll, twist to change music tracks etc.
So not only can it bend, but it will also use the bendable actions for gestures. Personally this should stay away from the Nokia device and be incorporated onto the Apple iPhone 5 or 6, the reason we say this is simply down to graphics and gameplay.
The bendable iPhone 5 would change mobile gaming; we have to look at it on both sides of the fence to be honest. Gaming on the iPhone 5 and controlling games by bending the device sounds brilliant, but then on the bad side of the fence it could cause problems looking at the screen whilst playing a game in bendy situations.
The only way we can see a bendable iPhone 5 or 6 is one that can on certain apps, ones that do not matter if the screen is twisted. Can you just imagine playing say GTV and twisting the iPhone to turn the cars left or right?

Is iOS 5 or the iPhone 4S Causing Battery Problems?
Does the iPhone 4S have a bum battery? Not according to our tests.
Apple iPhone owners have been complaining about shorter battery life on their new iPhone 4S devices, which may actually be a problem with how the new iOS 5 uses GPS to set time zones. Apple is apparently investigating the issue.
When we tested the iPhone 4S’s talk time, we found it to last longer than the previous model: 7 hours, 33 minutes for the CDMA device as compared to the iPhone 4′s 6 hours, 17 minutes. To look closer, though, we decided to do a head-to-head test.
So we did an experiment. We took a Verizon iPhone 4 running iOS 4, an ATT iPhone 4 running iOS 5, and a Sprint iPhone 4S. We set them all up with no accounts pushing, Bluetooth off and location services on, and the screen on maximum brightness. The Verizon and Sprint phones had cellular on and Wi-Fi off; the ATT phone (which had lost its provisioning) had Wi-Fi on and cellular off.
This isn’t a perfect test. We weren’t testing standby battery life with the screen off. Obviously, our phones were connecting to different networks, and they’re of slightly different ages so the batteries would have different levels of charge remaining. But if iOS 5 or the iPhone 4S had a severe battery life problem, it probably would have shown up.
We didn’t see a big difference between the three phones. The ATT iPhone 4 died first after six hours, 55 minutes. The iPhone 4S lasted another 32 minutes, and the Verizon iPhone 4 died two minutes later.
Considering our older iPhone 4 running iOS 4 lasted the longest of the bunch, it looks like iOS 5 may indeed be causing a hit on the battery. The iPhone 4S’s larger, newer battery only just matched the older phone, and an iPhone 4 running iOS 5 died the quickest.
The difference, at least in our test, isn’t the dramatic horror that some people are reporting on message boards. That doesn’t mean users aren’t having problems. If the bug is related to time zones, for instance, our phones may just not be triggering the conditions necessary to set the phone into a time-zone-setting reverie.
Tentatively, though, we’ll say that iOS 5, not the iPhone 4S hardware, appears to have a significant effect on battery life. See the video below for more.
Here are the battery percentages we saw during our rundown test.

Rounding up iPhone 5 rumours
The iOSsphere hungers for news about iPhone 5. It can’t let go of LTE and new images of what the Next iPhone will look like, among other things.
Here’s a summary of iPhone 5 rumours currently doing the rounds:
iPhone 5 will have LTE – you betcha!
At least, ‘according to industry sources in Taiwan,’ as reported by DigiTimes, which has more of them than anyone else.
The published account is actually headlined ‘Competition for LTE-enabled smartphones to heat up in 2012,’ but the story itself is about the US LTE smartphone market. ‘Competition among handset vendors for a bigger share in the US LTE-enabled smartphone market is set to intensify in 2012 when Sprint Nextel starts kicking off its LTE services in the middle of the year.’
That’s a bit like saying, ‘Competition among Republican presidential candidates is expected to intensify in 2012 when primary elections start.’
The industry sources refer to Apple almost in passing. ‘Nokia, Apple, RIM and Sony Ericsson are expected to join the LTE club in 2012 …,’ using the Passive Rumour Tense which always makes rumours sound more like facts.
So CNET rewrote the headline when it ‘reported’ the DigiTimes story: ‘Apple expected to launch 4G LTE iPhone next year.’
The bulk of the CNET is a summary and linknest of previous stories dealing with LTE market projections, other LTE handset vendors, Apple’s rare comments on LTE technology and so on. The general iOSsphere assumption seems to be that Apple will miss the tidal wave of LTE adoption, or reveal itself as technologically inept, if it fails to introduce an LTE iPhone 5 in 2012. CNET repeats some ABI Research projections: “To keep up with the likely consumer demand, the number of 4G smartphones shipped annually is forecast to reach 245 million in 2016, compared with just 4.6 million last year …”
That sounds like a lot. But then Morgan Stanley is forecasting nearly 2.8 billion “3G+” users by the end of 2014. It’s likely that a somewhat more ‘mature’ cellular market like the US will have a higher penetration of 4G by 2015, but the bulk of usage will still be 3G-related. Apple can afford to wait on the 4G iPhone.
Christina Bonnington, writing for Wired’s Gadget Lab blog, slaps the LTE dreamers upside the head. “LTE support isn’t something that Apple can just instantaneously ‘flip on’ for everyone,” she points out. “A host of technologies – from network towers to hardware chipsets – must first converge, and if the short history of 4G deployment is any indicator, Apple’s 4G future could be bumpy.”
The iPhone 5 with LTE is a distant reality. “We’ll believe it when we see it,” Bonnington writes. “And then we’ll immediately begin testing the handset in various locations to see just who’s really served by LTE support.”
People with Photoshop already know what iPhone 5 will look like
We enter, once more, that strange land where virtuality imitates reality imitating virtuality imitating reality. Several rumour sites again are posting renderings, mockups, concept art or, more simply, made-up images of the Next iPhone. Then, they’re talking about them as if these were real.
Mobile Magazine has posted images by ADR Studios’ designer Antonio de Rosa, who’”culled together the most current rumours and put them together in a clever package.’
What are those current rumours, you ask? They include an ‘aluminium’ or ‘liquid metal’ unibody type body, a capacitive home button in an oval-like shape, a larger 4.3in screen that goes nearly edge to edge, an upgraded Apple A6 dual-core processor and improved versions of both iOS 5 and iCloud.”
We think Mobile Magazine’s Michael Kwan might be getting carried away since de Rosa’s concept art doesn’t actually show us the A6 or the ‘improved’ OS and cloud service. But, that’s just a quibble.
However, Kwan is also dubious. Maybe this isn’t such a clever concept after all. “I don’t know about you, but the stretched out iPhone 5 is starting to look a fair bit like the Android superphones that are out there with their 4+ inch displays,” he writes. “The edge to edge display looks nice, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of that grey-ish curved back.”
Over at the iPhone 5 News Blog, they’re not so sure either. “I tend to agree with MobileMag’s general observation, particularly as it relates to the larger screen size on the iPhone 5,” writes Michael Nace.
He also references the metal unibody ‘construction’ (if one can use that term for a Photoshop imagining) “thanks to groundbreaking ‘LiquidMetal’ technology, which many believe will also debut on the iPhone 5.”
That’s a nice touch: ‘Many believe.’ That could be a reference to ‘industry sources in Taiwan’ or the legions of ‘graphics designers’ furthering the conversation about what the Next iPhone will look like.
‘LiquidMetal’ apparently refers to the alloys created by Liquidmetal TechnologiesA alloys that have, among other properties, more than twice the tensile strength of conventional titanium alloys. Yet Apple has created aluminium unibodies for MacBook Air and more recently the MacBook line itself without any liquidmetal.
Not to be outdone, GizmoCrunch has concept art and concept specs from another designer, Alexander Black.
“Hardware-wise, this iPhone 5 concept purportedly packs an A8 1.9GHz dual-core processor, 10-megapixel rear camera, 7-megapixel front camera, 4.5-inch Retina Display, a touchpad integrated at the back similar to the Sony PS Vita, 2100mAh battery and of course, iOS 5,” gushes Steve Taylor.
“We can’t even imagine just what a 1.9GHz dual-core iPhone 5 is capable of,” he writes, clearly on the verge of swooning over an imagined phone with made-up specs created by a graphics designer.
iPhone 5 will have a quad-core processor
To be honest, we missed this rumour from last week. Living up to its name, MacRumors carried a story based on a story in Korea Times that Apple will shift from to TSMC instead of Samsung for production of the next-generation, Apple-designed A6 and A7 chips for future iOS devices.
But then it gets confusing because the MacRumors story goes on to say that Apple in fact is sticking with Samsung for the A6, a quad-core processor “to be used in the next iPhone.” Citing an anonymous “executive from an Apple parts supplier based in Korea,” MacRumors/Korea Times said Samsung ‘has been increasing the output of the Apple-designed A6 chips in its manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas.’
Quad-core mobile chips are pretty rare at this point. Nvidia earlier this year demonstrated its ‘Kal-El‘ addition to its Tegra product line. And Qualcomm and Freescale also are both touting higher performing quad-core silicon, which can do things like support 3D graphics … on a screen smaller than a slice of bread.
Life doesn’t get better than that. Until we have six-core mobile processors.
Steve Jobs will not introduce the iPhone 5
Given that he’s dead, this would seem like a no-brainer. But there are now rumuors that Jobs recorded a product introduction to either the Next iPhone or the Next iPad or both.
Forthrightly, Beatweek debunks any expectation that Jobs will introduce iPhone 5 from beyond the grave. “If Steve were to make a posthumous product introduction (again, we’re not saying the idea sounds realistic, but rather merely addressing viability of the buzz we’re hearing), it would be at Apple’s next event – and that’ll be the iPad 3 event,” writes the assured Bill Palmer.
Of course, if the idea sounded realistic, no one would be rumouring it; or explaining why it’s not actually realistic after all.

Apple Rumors: Apple TV Set, A 4G iPhone 5 And A Steve Jobs Movie
Every week the numerous blogs covering the machinations of the Apple empire float tons of unconfirmed rumors, futuristic speculation, and questionably-sourced reports on what the company might be unveiling in the near or distant future. Let’s take a look back at what these Mac blogs were excited about this week, from October 23 – 29. Check out last week’s Apple rumors here, and for all the latest, follow me on Twitter here.

Last week, we learned that Steve Jobs had “cracked” the solution to television, fueling speculation that Apple was working on its own TV sets; this week, activity surrounding that speculation absolutely exploded. Every analyst, tech writer and blogger is convinced that a real-life Apple TV set is coming, and coming soon.
The biggest story came from The New York Times’ Nick Bilton, who claims to have tons of inside information from “Apple employees and people close to the company” on the forthcoming Apple televisions. There are prototypes floating around, he writes, and they will largely be controlled by Siri rather than the traditional remote control, which Jobs always found clunky. The hypiest paragraph:
It’s the stuff of science fiction. You sit on your couch and rather than fumble with several remotes or use hand gestures, you simply talk: “Put on the last episode of Gossip Girl.” “Play the local news headlines.” “Play some Coldplay music videos.” Siri does the rest.
Also from the Times: These TVs could be coming in early 2013, with an announcement at the end of 2012. So, start saving.
One other noteworthy bit of Apple television prognostication: The project is apparently being headed by the same man who led the development of the iTunes software, according to a Bloomberg report. (Deposit your love and/or hatred of the iTunes interface in the comments section.)
Aside from a hypothetical Apple television set announcement, you know what else is coming in 2012? No, not the apocalypse: The iPhone 5 (or 6, depending on how you count). And everyone wants to know: Will it have 4G speeds? One source says: BET ON IT…

iPhone 5 Said to Lead LTE Charge as Sprint Preps New 4G Network, Devices
Apple will be among a slew of manufacturers launching their first LTE-capable smartphones next year. Apple, RIM, Sony Ericsson and Nokia are all expected to “join the LTE club,” sources told Taiwan-based Digitimes this week.
Those same sources also spilled details on Sprint’s coming LTE network, which CEO Dan Hesse previously said would debut in a handful of markets in mid-2012 and reach 275 million people by 2014. America’s third-largest carrier will reportedly launch 15 LTE devices – a combination of smartphones, tablets, data cards, etc. – at the time or shortly after the network is up and running.
There are now 35 LTE networks around the world, and that number is expected to be in the triple-digits by the end of next year as carriers race to meet consumers’ needs for speed.
News that Apple will finally produce an LTE-capable iPhone next year can’t come as a big surprise, but it’s certainly something that fans of the device have been waiting for. Insiders have said that up until now, Apple hasn’t felt any urgent need to jump on the 4G bandwagon since a large percentage of smartphone owners either don’t know what it is or can’t define it. But the time seems right as Verizon Wireless will have the lion’s share of the U.S. covered with its LTE network next year, ATT’s will grow to reach tens of millions of potential customers, and Sprint’s will make its debut.
While Digitimes isn’t always on the mark with its long-term predictions, this forecast backs up what China Mobile’s chairman said in an interview with Reuters earlier this week. He said his company is in talks with Apple about an iPhone based on TD-LTE, China’s homegrown 4G technology.
So when we exactly will we see an LTE iPhone? Some analysts are already predicting it will be introduced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference next June, but it’s simply too early to tell; however, odds on sometime in 2012 are looking pretty good.

No. 5 smart-phone maker HTC predicts rough holiday season
HTC Corp. warned its sales in the fourth quarter, traditionally a bumper sales season for smart phones, would drop below the previous quarter and analysts’ forecasts as the Taiwanese firm struggles to compete against bigger rivals.
HTC, which in a few years has risen from obscure origins as a manufacturer for other others to become No. 5 smart-phone maker, will lose market share to Apple and Samsung in the race for holiday season sales, analysts said.
HTC had a fairytale ride in 2010 and early 2011, with its shares more than tripling in the 14 months to April 2011 and sales growing four-fold in one and a half years as consumers snapped up its innovative phones with their distinctive large clock numerals.
But HTC on Monday shocked the market with a forecast for fourth-quarter revenue to fall to $4.1-billion from $4.5-billion in the third quarter, and shipments falling to 12-13 million units from 13.2 million in the third quarter.
On average analysts expected the fourth-quarter smart phone market to grow 21 per cent from the previous quarter, with HTC selling 14.5 million to 17.2 million phones, according to a Reuters poll published earlier this month.
Neil Mawston from Strategy Analytics said tougher competition from the new Apple iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S2 would hurt HTC in the United States and Western Europe.
“The U.S. and Western Europe are HTC’s two most important markets and both Apple and Samsung have been turning up the heat recently,” Mr. Mawston said.
Carolina Milanesi from Gartner said HTC’s cheaper smartphones have failed to gain as much traction as the company might have expected and said at the top end of market it had too many too similar products.
“They have many products really targeting a similar audience and this is never a good thing… I think they need to look at their portfolio very carefully and rationalize it,” she said.
HTC also said it expects gross margin and operating margin at around 28 per cent and 14.5 per cent, respectively, the same level as in the third quarter.
HTC said it was more optimistic about LTE 4G phones to be launched in the first quarter when meaningful shipment would be seen, and stressed that it had no plans to launch phones under $100 as the media reported.
“We hope to capture the opportunities from customers migrating from feature phones to smart phones with our quality; that’s something we won’t compromise, we cannot launch low-end products,” HTC CFO Winston Yung told a telephone conference.
Mr. Yung said HTC’s smart phones for the mass market are currently priced between $200-$250.
HTC sales and net profit hit new records in the July-September quarter, with China sales jumping nine-fold from a year ago thanks to growth in the number of outlets selling HTC models.

China Mobile Skirts Apple to Add 5 Million IPhone Users: Tech
Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) — China Mobile Ltd. failed to get Apple Inc.’s cooperation to make iPhones for its proprietary 3G network. That didn’t stop the carrier from signing up almost 5 million users of the smartphone in four months. Its trick: Offer Wi-Fi instead.
The world’s biggest carrier by subscribers touts the iPhone 4 in advertisements on the Beijing subway and in its shops, and offers gift cards worth as much as 2,800 yuan ($441) to customers prepaying for Wi-Fi service to surf the Web. The company plans to roll out 1 million new Wi-Fi hotspots across China in the next three years.
The strategies helped China Mobile more than double its iPhone users to 9.5 million from May to September, Chairman Wang Jianzhou said. The company widened its lead in total subscribers over China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd., the only carrier approved by Apple to sell the iPhone in the world’s largest mobile-phone market.
“China Mobile is trying to hold on to their high-end users,” said Sandy Shen, a Shanghai-based analyst at research firm Gartner Inc. “They are trying to make up for the fact they don’t have iPhone in their portfolio.”
IPhone users can’t connect to China Mobile’s 3G network because Apple hasn’t produced a compatible version. The system, known as TD-SCDMA, isn’t used outside China.
Meeting Steve Jobs
The government picked China Mobile to use the network because its market dominance was supposed to help promote the technology. Wang said in a September 2010 interview that he met with Steve Jobs earlier that year to discuss making an iPhone for the network, and those talks failed.
The iPhone does conform with the standards used by China Mobile’s 2G voice and Wi-Fi data networks. IPhone owner Lynnerd Lang, a website designer in Beijing, said there’s enough Wi-Fi coverage that he doesn’t need to switch to China Unicom’s 3G network.
“I don’t think 3G is really necessary to enjoy it,” Lang, 22, said. “If I need to use the Internet, there is Wi-Fi. If I want to download an app, I do it on my MacBook at home and sync it to the phone.”
Customers receive a gift card, which can be spent on voice or data services, by buying the iPhone 4 at any of five partner retailers and paying for 2,400 yuan worth of Wi-Fi service, according to China Mobile posters.
Subway Ads
“They realize this is working,” said Paul Wuh, an analyst at Samsung Securities Co. in Hong Kong. “They have 10 million people who were willing to buy an iPhone without any subsidy and use it on the 2G network, so now they are just encouraging that by offering this Wi-Fi package.”
Subway ads list the iPhone 4 first among eight devices covered by the promotion, using a yellow font twice as large as the black font used for Samsung Electronics Co.’s Galaxy; Nokia Oyj’s T7; ZTE Corp.’s U830 and Huawei Technologies Co.’s T8300.
Rainie Lei, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman with China Mobile, declined to elaborate on the ad campaign.
China Unicom, whose 3G network uses the international WCDMA standard, doesn’t break down how many subscribers use the iPhone. Sophia Tso, the carrier’s Hong Kong-based spokeswoman, declined to comment.
Carolyn Wu, a Beijing-based spokeswoman with Apple, declined to comment on China Mobile’s iPhone promotion.
“We have only one iPhone partner in China: China Unicom,” Wu said.
Doubling Its Lead
China Mobile has 43.2 million 3G users compared with 30.2 million for China Unicom. That gap of 13 million is more than double the subscriber lead of 4.7 million it held in September 2010.
China Mobile shares are down 3.3 percent this year, while China Unicom’s are up 45 percent, driven mainly by investors betting on growth from the latter company’s 3G services.
China is the world’s largest market with 952 million mobile-phone users, yet only 11 percent have made the switch to 3G. China Mobile has added more 3G users than China Unicom every month this year.
Using rebates to attract and retain iPhone users will come at a price for China Mobile, said Kelvin Ho, an analyst with Yuanta Securities Co. in Shanghai. The maximum cash back of 2,800 yuan is about 62 percent of the 4,548-yuan price tag for a 16-gigabyte iPhone 4 at Apple’s online store in China.
‘Tiny’ Wi-Fi Returns
“The competition is heating up, and China Mobile can’t avoid spending on handset subsidies,” Ho said. “Wi-Fi does definitely help them retain customers, but what they need to do is move traffic from 2G to 3G, not to Wi-Fi.”
Wi-Fi’s returns are “very, very tiny” compared with 3G, Ho said. As a result, China Mobile will see “very slow growth in earnings” in the next two years, he said.
China Mobile’s subscribers with iPhones use twice as much data each month as its other smartphone subscribers, and three times the company’s average, according to estimates by Wuh.
China Mobile on Oct. 20 reported third-quarter profit gained 3.7 percent to 30.7 billion yuan, missing analyst estimates, as costs to attract smartphone users reduced margins.
China Unicom said Oct. 27 that net income rose 21 percent to 1.61 billion yuan, which missed the 1.73 billion-yuan average of three analysts.
China Mobile’s parent company, China Mobile Communications Corp., is now testing a new 4G network using the international TD-LTE standard. Wang said last month the company received a “positive answer from Apple” that it would make an iPhone for it.

Jailbreak/Unlock iPhone 4,4S,3Gs iOS 5 -Ghost 5.0
he search for an untethered jailbreak for Apple’s latest mobile Operating System, iOS 5, it’s over. The GhostApp.org team finally has released a jailbreak tool for an untethered jailbreak iOS 5 on iPhone4/4S. It has been named “Ghost 5.0 5.0″
The new version of Ghost 5.0 5.0 is capable of performing an untethered jailbreak iPhone4/4S iOS 5 on every Apple device, aside from the iPad 2 and iPhone4/4S. It allows you to unlock your device and add tons of little apps and tweaks through Cydia.
To get the untethered iOS 5 jailbreak, visit the official website of www.GhostApp.org team and download the latest version of Ghost 5.0 5.0. In addition, the Ghost 5.0 v5.0 is an untethered iPhone4/4S iOs 5 jailbreak, which means that it allows you to untethered jailbreak a iPhone4/4S running on iOS 5 via Safari browser, just like JailbreakMe 3.0.
To Jailbreak and Unlock your iPhone Visit The Official Website www.GhostApp.org
As far as features go, untethered jailbreaks are similar to tethered ones. However, there is a big difference – tethered jailbreaks require you to reconnect the device to a Windows or Mac orgputer each time it needs to be booted. It may be annoying if the battery dies, as the device has to be reconnected to recover the jailbreak application. An untethered jailbreak, on the other hand, allows the device to be powered without orgputer assistance.
What is Cydia?
Cydia is a big name when it orges to iPhones. Some say it is what makes Apple’s iPhone and other iOS devices as open as possible, letting people install apps from a wide range of providers. Some say it is a hack for the iPhone which lets you customize the phone according to your needs. Some say many other things about Cydia. What is Cydia? What is Cydia used for? These are some of the things that we answer here.
What is CydiaSo what is Cydia Actually?
Cydia is much like the Installer.app for iPhone. If you have used the Installer before, or tried to configure it, you’d be somewhat familiar with Cydia too. Cydia is a third-party, independent installer for your iPhone. Much like the Apple’s iTunes App Store, Cydia brings you bucket loads of applications to download for free or for money. It is a giant repository collection – which offers apps from various orgmunity sources across the web right to your iPhone so you get much more options to choose from.
But what is the need to jailbreak? Actually, many apps on Cydia do not conform to the Apple’s Terms and Conditions for App developers. This has made Apple not to let you install Cydia on the iPhone or other devices. This is the reason why one needs to jailbreak an iPhone before installing and being able to run Cydia.

Thanks to the release of Ghost 5.0, you can now upgrade the majority of your Apple mobile devices to iOS ios 5, on either Mac or Windows. The new version is orgpatible with the iPhone 4, iphone 4S/4/3GS, iphone 4S/4/3G, Apple TV (2nd generation), iPad and iPod touch Any Baseband and Any Version.
To be clear, jailbreaking (opening your device to new software) is not the same as unlocking (opening your device to different mobile data services/carriers). Now Ghost 5.0 can do them both , Ghost 5.0 Can first Jailbreak iPhone 4 ios 5 Untethered and Unlock iPhone 4 ios 5 ( or iphone 4S/4/3Gs ) Any Baseband and Any Firmware.
Merely 40 days have passed since Apple released iOS ios 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The best news is that now you can jailbreak iOS ios 5 untethered jailbreak has been released. The reason behind iOS ios 5 was that Apple needed to patch a vulnerability in mobile Safari that allowed hackers to gain root access to your device through the mobile Safari browser. Ghost 5.0 Teeam used this jailbreak to develop a PDF based software for iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS ios 5 and iPhone, iPad, iPod touch jailbreak on iOS 4.3 – ios 5. Regardless of the fact that PDF Patcher 2 was released in Cydia to patch this vulnerability as well as retain the jailbreak.
Why is an unlock and untethered jailbreak iPhone 4/3Gs iOS ios 5 possible using Ghost 5.0? Its simple. As previously mentioned, iOS 5 is going to be released this fall and we have already been able to jailbreak iOS 5 beta firmware, albeit tethered. It seems only logical for the GhostApp.org team to concentrate on making an iOS 5 untethered jailbreak, regardless of the fact that Apple has patched too very well known untethered jailbreak exploits in the latest iOS 5 beta firmware but untill then we have the Ghost 5.0 untethered jailbreak for iOs ios 5.
Though a slightly orgplicated process, jailbreaking the iPhone 4 ios 5 and 3Gs and unlock it allows the use of apps and other software outside of Apple’s highly controlled App Store. The benefit is that you have more freedom to choose whatever you’d like; the downside is software isn’t necessarily held to the standards you’re used to in App Store offerings.
Ghost 5.0 was developed by the www.GhostApp.org, the people behind latest success jailbreak releases. The Ghost 5.0 Official website www.GhostApp.org mentions two new features in the update that will please advanced users. First, the software offers custom “bootlogos” for iPhone3G/iPhone3GS/iPod2G users. Second, they’ve added the DFU option when interacting with PwngeTool.
Also, jailbreaking only applies to the current software update, so if updates happen in the next few months, you’ll be waiting for the next corresponding jailbreak update before you can take advantage of any new iOS additions in the future.
