Samsung Galaxy S3 specs rumors: Release still some months away

Samsung Galaxy S3 release date is still some months away. But rumors about its specs and features are doing the rounds for months. We are certain that Samsung will launch the smartphoen with major improvements.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is among the most awaited smartphones right now. The other one that can be called equally awaited if not more is none other than Apple’s iPhone 5 that is also expected to be released closely behind Galaxy S3.

The forthcoming smartphone from Korean tech giant is set to come with major improvements. With its existing Galaxy S2 topping all the charts of popularity, the next generation phone from Samsung will improve the standing of the company more firmly in the smart phone market.

There are reasons to believe that Samsung will improve the smartphone in every aspect. According to Hexus, an image of Galaxy S3, shows a super slim industrial design. A report says that the next generation Samsung smartphone’s display looks unique, or rather queer, with a curved design, which is enough to stimulate the imagination of what future smartphones could be. But the authenticity of the image is still not clear.

There are all sorts of reports doing the rounds about possible specs and features of the forthcoming smartphone from Samsung. Many credible reports have suggested that Samsung is going to come out with a larger display of 4.6 inch. Reports also suggest that the new Galaxy S phone will be powered by a 1.8 GHz quad core processor with Samsung’s Exynos series of SoC, a Super AMOLED HD display and 4G LTE connectivity. Of course, the new Galaxy S phone will work on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the most recent update to the mobile OS from Google. Well, we will be getting one more incredible smartphone from Samsung next year.

There are other reports that suggest that the forthcoming smartphone will be a 3D. Some sources reported that there would be only a 3D version as the next Galaxy S phone. There is less chance that Samsung will limit its next major Galaxy S update as a 3D device only. What may happen is that we will get an advanced Galaxy S III early next year and a 3D version late next year.

iPhone 5: Coming soon to a store near you

Barely have the hype and the corresponding hysteria surrounding the new iPad receded, that rumours about the iPhone 5 – it will be known as the new iPhone, say insiders – have begun iClouding the online space.

The latest is that the new iPhone will definitely be shipped out of the rich company’s (it’s last reported market capitalization was $555.74 billion, with share price surging 50 per cent in 2012 so far) gates in Cupertino, Silicon Valley.

While the launch date isn’t set in silicon just yet, those who’ve mastered the guessing game on Apple Inc.’s product lineups are fairly sure it will be in fall this year – that makes it around September or October 2012 – although the ‘other’ set of rumour mill suggests a June launch. I guess we’ll have to wait for more ‘rumours’ on that one to take sides.

But that isn’t all of it – after a small hop from the iPhone 4 to the 4S in 2011, Apple is bound to make a quantum jump, technically speaking, with the new iPhone, or so claim experts.

So, what will the new iPhone have that my phone doesn’t?

For starters, it will have a larger screen – 4.6 inches of it. People who claim to know what’s going on in Apple – and there are dime a dozen of those, mind you – swear that Apple’s next-generation iPhone will come with a 4.6-inch screen.

From the current screen size of 3.5 inches, that will be almost a third bigger, and the success of the new iPad will sure encourage Apple to add the retina display to the iPhone as well.

According to newswire Reuters, the new iPhone will have a sharper (a la the new iPad) and bigger 4.6-inch ‘retina’ display and is set to be launched around the second quarter. The newswire said Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and has started placing orders to its suppliers, citing the Maeil Business Newspaper as its source.

Additionally, the new iPhone might come equipped with a new dock plug (a smaller 30-pin dock connector, predicts the usually accurate iMore blog), as well as an upgraded 4G LTE technology (again, a la the new iPad). The speed would be 10 times faster than the 3G, say enthusiasts.

What else, you ask?

Well, since you asked… Remember how the iPhone 4s’s iOS 5 reached a major milestone which included Siri and iCloud? Trust Apple to go the extra mile, metaphorically speaking, to provide new software or the upgrades with its latest product launches. So, after the release of iOS 5.1, the upcoming iPhone may just bump up with iOS 6.

And, to make it big (or rather small, in true tech tradition), Apple is expected to debut an ultra small SIM card for the new iPhone. According to iPhone5NewsBlog, the iPhone 5 (some say it will be named iPhone 5.1, but we’d rather go with the new iPhone) is rumored to include a nano SIM card, which would be one-third smaller when compared to the current iPhone 4S SIM design. The introduction of nano sim card feature could be a competing factor for the Android powered devices.

But if you have been waiting for an extended memory and storage options, the new iPhone is likely to disappoint in that there have been no substantial rumours suggesting that storage could be upped from the current max size of 64GB to 128GB. But then, there always the next time.

If you do own an iPhone, or want to do so, and have a wish list of your own, do let us know in comments below. Who knows, Apple might just tweak its offering to meet your demand!

iPhone 5: Features we can expect

iPhone 5: Features we can expect

Every new Iphone release has always been a hectic yet very successful one for Apple, selling faster than they can deliver. People always want what they can’t have which just makes these launches that much more troublesome. Fear not, when the Iphone 5 release date is leaked you can be certain that we will have it for you first.
The Iphone 5 was expected to be released with the new iOS 5 but complications happened which made the release of the iphone 5 with iOS 5 impossible in Apple’s eyes. So here we have the Iphone 4S, which to many was a major disappointment. Most people were expecting more from one of the world’s biggest and most technologically influential companies to date. The day the Iphone 4s was announced, Apple’s stock plummeted and for good reason. While the Iphone 4s does offer performance upgrades and added features, it was not enough according to the majority of Iphone enthusiasts. While it isn’t the first time Apple released an ‘S’ version in between official versions, it was the fact that it was so out of the blue and unexpected it has shocked people and Apple’s stock.
That’s exactly what we can expect, according to CNET. The tech blog also cites anonymous reports that the iPhone 5 will introduce a smaller dock connector. The current 30-pin proprietary connector has been in use since the first iPod release in 2001 and has been the main form of charging/connectivity of every iPhone, iPad, and iPod aside from the Shuffle.
Originally a Firewire cable with small “teeth,” the venerable cable has gained USB 2.0 capability, lost those teeth, and shrunk as much as possible while keeping the same amount of pins. Changing to a smaller dock connector like the mini-USB ones used by other smartphones will create a market for new accessories, but it will also make the legion of accessories and stereo equipment with the 30-pin Dock Connector immediately obsolete without an adapter. Any grief caused by the change will be worth it to Apple, who needs to pack more and more into ever shrinking mobile devices. Tear downs show that the 30-pin Dock Connector takes up a rather large amount of space at the bottom of the iPhone. That space can be put to better uses like increasing the size of the battery for a power-hungry 4G LTE radio.
CNET are probably a familiar name to most readers and they have a solid track record, having correctly predicted the date of Apple’s iPad 3 and inclusion of 4G LTE. They have pegged the iPhone 5 launch for Fall/October 2012, close to the iPhone 4S last year. Further reports indicate a similar size screen for the new device, suggesting it could remain 3.5″, but that size is “not set in stone.” Watchers who hoped for a slightly larger, bezel-free, edge-to-edge screen that didn’t increase the overall iPhone size may be disappointed.
After the subtle enhancements seen in the 4S, fans are geared up for a fully redesigned iPhone 5. Apple looks to be on track with 4G LTE that meets its rigorous battery standards, but could really give buyers a pleasant surprise if the new Dock Connector used a standard mini-USB connection or a magnetic connection similar to the Mag Safe MacBook cable.

New reports have suggested Apple will introduce a 3D camera to future iterations of its iPhone and iPad devices after a patent from the Cupertino based company emerged outing its work into the compact extra-dimensional snappers.

Far from the first time Apple has been tipped to be working on 3D technologies, the latest reports have suggested the 3D cameras could be introduced to the company’s iOS packing products allowing users to make use of advanced microlenses to add visual depth to extra-dimensional snaps.

The latest patent filing, released by the United States Patent and Trademark Office would not see the 3D tech limited to pocket blowers with Apple announcing such technologies could be introduced to “digital cameras, personal computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile telephones, a standalone camera,” or indeed any device that is capable of processing the resulting image data.

Detailing the true capabilities of the 3D imaging technologies the Apple patent adds that: “A user may take video of a home while walking through the home and the image sensing device could use the calculated depth and surface detail information to create a three-dimensional model of the home. The depth and surface detail information of multiple photographs or video stills may then be matched to construct a seamless composite three-dimensional model that combines the surface detail and depth from each of the photos or video.

Whilst it is not likely that such features will be introduced into devices with the coming months, a number of reports following on from the patent unveiling have suggested the 3D snapper could well be the eventual party piece of the eagerly awaited and heavily rumoured new iPhone 5.

Apple new iPhone 5 Rumours

Far form confirmed the latest iPhone 5 rumours have followed on from a flurry of previous reports that have suggested the iOS touting handset will sport an all new form factor that moves the market leading handset on from the iPhone 4 and 4S design with a Gorilla Glass 2 backing to make the device more life proof.

Originally expected to make its first appearance last year before the somewhat disappointing arrival of the Apple iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5, which has recently been tipped for an October 2012 release, is now expected to land without its numerical branding.

As well as a quad-core ARM A6 processor, a number of iPhone 5 rumours have suggested the next-gen handset will sport an improved camera, increased RAM and larger storage options.

Will the Iphone 5 ever be released?

Will the Iphone 5 ever be released?

The release date of the iphone 5 has been just an on going rumor for months now. Among the new features every new Iphone brings, the release date is just as hot a topic. People want to know exactly when it’s available so they can have it first, or have it at all. Every new Iphone release has always been a hectic yet very successful one for Apple, selling faster than they can deliver. People always want what they can’t have which just makes these launches that much more troublesome. Fear not, when the Iphone 5 release date is leaked you can be certain that we will have it for you first.

While it isn’t the first time Apple released an ‘S’ version in between official versions, it was the fact that it was so out of the blue and unexpected it has shocked people and Apple’s stock.
The iPhone 5 release date is still just rumors circulating with no concrete information. However the fact that Apple seems to prefer to have their major launches in late spring to early summer is probably a good place to speculate as the next release date for Iphone 5. As of right now most tech gurus are saying early summer 2012, but now with the recent release of the Iphone 4s the iphone 5 release date could be delayed further. Customers that buy the iPhone 4s could be extremely angry if Apple were to release the Iphone 5 less than a year later. Unfortunately in today’s technology world 1 year is a very long time, so get used to it.
Not only are these release dates a matter of releasing a bug free product, but there is also a marketing aspect behind them. Apple wants to release at the absolute best time to maximize profits after building months and even years worth of hype. Delaying too long could allow for competition to come in and snag a good percentage of customers that grow tireless of waiting. Releasing too soon could result in a bug filled product that wasn’t tested enough causing major customer support issues and potentially damaging the company’s reputation.
As you can see the iPhone 5 release date is a very touchy subject for both customers, developers and manufacturers with many variables coming into play. Who will know the official release date of the Iphone 5 first? Apple of course! Who will be the next to know?

iPhone 5 Specs to Include Texas Instruments Chip?

iphone 5, iphone specs, iphone 5 features, iphone 5 release date, iphone 5 rumorsThe latest rumor on the much-awaited iPhone 5 comes from RepairLabs, which claimed that Apple’s supplier Texas Instruments is now working on the production of the smartphone’s power management chip. The manufacturer also assembles the touchscreen controllers of the iPhone 4S and the recently launched iPad.

RepairLabs also reported that the new iPhone will be baptized as iPhone 5, unlike the unnamed new iPad.

Rumors about the iPhone5 release dates vary, ranging between summer and fall but many are speculating an earlier release since China’s Foxconn manufacturing plant has reportedly began production of the next-generation smartphone.

Sources say, that the iPhone 5 prototype seems to have a bigger display than its predecessor, but they are unsure whether the final handset will be equipped with a display as large as its Android counterparts. Most reports revolve around a 4-inch LCD screen that will showcase a more outstanding 720p retina display equating to higher resolution that will enable better viewing of detailed images. If the screen size rumors are true, iOS app developers may have to tweak their existing apps to match the size difference.

Apple may possibly replace its connector with a smaller alternative to make a slimmer form possible for the iPhone 5. This is also in line with Qualcomm’s latest iteration of its 4G LTE radio chip, believed to be included in the smartphone’s power pack.

The recent patent grants won by Apple will also most likely be embedded in their next flagship smartphone. The iWallet, which will be utilizing NFC technology, brags features that will likely shoot down its rival Google Wallet.

The handset is also expected to have a more improved Siri, the voice-prompted personal assistant, and other trailblazing features like enhanced multi-player gaming and a sturdier physique with the patented crack-resistant alumino silicate glass.

US carriers are believed to be currently updating their networks before this year’s expected release of the iPhone 5 and other 4G LTE-capable devices.

iPhone 5 Release Date: Top Features We Expect to See in New Apple Phone

    Like us on Facebook

In terms of design, it’s high time that Apple came up with something new, as iPhone 4S looks exactly the same as its predecessor, the iPhone 4. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple kept the design of iPhone 5 the same.

The most desirable improvement considered by many owners of iPhones is a new operating system. ZDNet also rated with 9/10 the possibility of seeing iPhone 5 running on a new iOS version – iOS 6. Also, another much-awaited improvement would be the camera, which is expected to go up to 10-megapixels.

As for the connectivity, we are expecting iPhone 5 to come with full options, including 4G LTE and NFC, but we can also expect to see a revolutionary method of wirelessly charging the battery. However, ZDNet has rated the first one with a possibility of 8/10, while the latter is only at 3/10.

It remains to be seen how many of these expected features finally get to make their way into the iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 to get 3D camera, new patent suggests

New patents filed by Apple hint that a 3D camera, potentially packing three sensors, might be on the cards for the next generation of iDevices. Sick of only seeing two dimensions? Love your iPhone? Read on.

The so-fresh-it’s-warm patent comes via PatentlyApple, showing a three-sensor concept (pictured above). The 3D images are created by combining views from two side-by-side images — exactly the way human eyes see the world. We’ve seen it before now on phones like the LG Optimus 3D Max and the HTC Evo 3D with mixed results, but this is the first time we’ve heard of three sensors being used.

According to the patent, two of these sensors would deal with colour while the third in the middle would handle brightness. It’s not known at this point exactly how these three sensors would work together — if in fact they do operate at the same time. But it’s possible that the use of separate sensors like this could help produce a more vivid, rich photo than has previously been achievable by the current two-lens model.

PatentlyApple explains how this technology could be used for more accurate facial recognition, as the 3D sensors would be able to differentiate movements of facial muscles, That’s right, the next iPhone will know when you’re sad. It could also be able to scan 3D objects by setting the device to video mode and simply rotating the object in question by hand. If true, then I expect to immediately start 3D printing as many models of the lovely Emma Watson as I can fit in the office.

The patent also outlines the possibility of a more standard two-sensor system, although personally, I prefer the ambition in cramming three sensors in. Why not go mental and cover the entire back of the phone with 30?

Apple, and in fact most companies, often patent new ideas even when there’s no intention of ever putting the technology into production. So don’t get your hopes up for three image sensors in the next wave of devices — although we have heard rumour of a 3D iPhone before now.

The iPhone 5 may very well be turning up in October, but given that it’s likely to have been finalised long before now in order to meet production timescales, it’s pretty unlikely this 3D tech will be present.

Would you like to see a 3D camera in the new iPhone? Do you care at all about 3D anything? Let me know in the comments below or over on our Facebook wall.

iPhone 5 Release Date: Latest iPhone 5 Rumor Roundup, 3D Camera, Summer …

Boom another day another breaking story from Apple [NASDAQ: AAPL]. Just this week, we reported that the iPhone 5 release date has been moved up to June, which is huge considering the recent release of the iPad 3. And now today, we are hearing reports of a 3D for the iPhone. To add on to the news of the iPhone 5 release date, we are already starting to hear reports about iOS 6 and it’s damn good.

However, with Apple’s World Wide Developers’ Conference (WWDC) now just nine weeks away, things can change fast. That conference, which is usually where Apple unveils its new mobile OS, might also be where Apple releases the iPhone 5, too, but it’s too soon to tell there.

    iPhone 5 Release Date

Big news from Apple [AAPL] this week! We had previously pegged the iPhone5 release in September, but according to the Washington Post, Apple is already staffing up for a June iPhone5 release. There is no current word on iOS 6, but given Apple’s previous releases, it wouldn’t be unlikely for a simultaneous announcement. Here is some full coverage on the iOS 6 from us earlier this week.

Here’s the report from the Washington Post:

report from M.I.C. Gadget mentions that Foxconn is in the midst of a hiring drive for production of the iPhone 5, causing some to speculate that the next iPhone will be coming in June, instead of in the fall.

Apple reworked its iPhone release schedule to show off its newest iteration in the fall instead of the summer, and it seems unlikely — no matter who’s hiring — that the company would cut the product life of its most successful iPhone to date.

    iPhone 5 Specs

While there is no shortage of iPhone 5 rumors swirling around the internet, there are currently five that are gaining the most steam. First is a much larger iPhone screen – this of course has been on Apple fanboys wishlist since day one (see report below). Next is 4G LTE compatibility for the iPhone5. Apple is currently late to the game with this as most Android phones are already using the 4G network. Third, a quad core processor and upgraded chipset. Next, is the potential of a 3D camera for the iPhone. International Business Times has picked up a patent that hints on this (see report below). Last, but not least is an iPhone 5 made completely of glass.

Here is a report from TechCrunch on the rumors:

Pulling from a Korean newspaper called Maeil Business NewspaperReuters is reporting that “Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and started placing orders to its suppliers.” By suppliers, we assume that references LG and Samsung within Korea, but the unnamed sources declined to confirm.

Here is the report from International Business Times:

Adding to the much-hyped rumor about the next Apple iPhone, a tech website cited on Thursday a patent filing in the US Patent and Trademark Office and said Apple could be working on an advanced camera for mobile devices that couldcreate three-dimensional (3D) models of scanned objects and that the new development might arrive on future iDevices like the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Mashable has their own take on the potential design of the iPhone 5:

Apple has filed a patent application that describes a handheld device with a case made entirely out of glass.

Such a case could be formed from a “hollow glass tube” or two pieces of glass bonded together. The material would be radio transparent, and the device could be hermetically sealed and thus water resistant.

    iPhone 5 Photos

Intertational Business Times put a slide show together of the top 5 concept designs for the iPhone 5. Check them out.

As always this is a rumor round up so please take these with a grain of salt.
