What do you know about iPhone 5?
What do you know about iPhone 5?
The tech blog also cites anonymous reports that the iPhone 5 will introduce a smaller dock connector. The current 30-pin proprietary connector has been in use since the first iPod release in 2001 and has been the main form of charging/connectivity of every iPhone, iPad, and iPod aside from the Shuffle.
Originally a Firewire cable with small “teeth,” the venerable cable has gained USB 2.0 capability, lost those teeth, and shrunk as much as possible while keeping the same amount of pins. Changing to a smaller dock connector like the mini-USB ones used by other smartphones will create a market for new accessories, but it will also make the legion of accessories and stereo equipment with the 30-pin Dock Connector immediately obsolete without an adapter. Any grief caused by the change will be worth it to Apple, who needs to pack more and more into ever shrinking mobile devices. Tear downs show that the 30-pin Dock Connector takes up a rather large amount of space at the bottom of the iPhone. That space can be put to better uses like increasing the size of the battery for a power-hungry 4G LTE radio.
CNET are probably a familiar name to most readers and they have a solid track record, having correctly predicted the date of Apple’s iPad 3 and inclusion of 4G LTE. They have pegged the iPhone 5 launch for Fall/October 2012, close to the iPhone 4S last year. Further reports indicate a similar size screen for the new device, suggesting it could remain 3.5″, but that size is “not set in stone.” Watchers who hoped for a slightly larger, bezel-free, edge-to-edge screen that didn’t increase the overall iPhone size may be disappointed.
After the subtle enhancements seen in the 4S, fans are geared up for a fully redesigned iPhone 5. Apple looks to be on track with 4G LTE that meets its rigorous battery standards, but could really give buyers a pleasant surprise if the new Dock Connector used a standard mini-USB connection or a magnetic connection similar to the Mag Safe MacBook cable.

4 Ways Samsung Galaxy S3 Can Outdo iPhone 5 & HTC Evo 4G LTE
While the Samsung Galaxy S3 is arguably the most hyped Android smartphone of 2012 so far, it doesn’t mean that it’s untouchable. In fact, the recent announcement of the HTC EVO 4G LTE which is a variant of the HTC One X has quickly been heralded the most powerful smartphone on the market right now. Similarly, with the recent launch of the New iPad 3 with 4G LTE and a battery that doesn’t know when to quit, hopes for an iPhone 5 with heavily upgraded hardware but same decent battery life are high.
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 and HTC One X / EVO 4G LTE
So what does the Samsung Galaxy S3 need in order to stay ahead of the pack? Unmatchable display, faster processor, better camera and a huge battery. Read on.
Display: With the HTC EVO 4G LTE boasting a 4.7-inch LCD display and iPhone 5 rumors suggesting that Apple could put a display as large as 5-inches in the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 better have a screen size in this territory and a resolution to match. Given that the Samsung Galaxy S2 had a 4.3-inch display, the Galaxy S3 can certainly do with a screen size upgrade and that Super AMOLED III display that’s been rumored so much.
Processor: Given that the New iPad 3 has a dual-core processor and so does the HTC EVO 4G LTE in order to be compatible with LTE radios, Samsung’s rumored in-house 1.8GHz quad-core CPU will certainly take the cake if its LTE capable. Sure, one can argue that quad-core processors aren’t necessarily better than dual-core, but you can’t ignore the fact that 4 is bigger than 2, and it is difficult to change a general consumer’s perception that more isn’t always better.
Camera: The HTC One X has settled for an 8-megapixel camera just like the Samsung Galaxy S2 has. Given that 12-megapixel camera sensors are readily available on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to be going with one such sensor. However it is important to note that iPhone 5 rumors also peg it with a 12-megapixel Sony camera sensor. Both the current Samsung Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S are heralded for their rear cameras so whoever comes up on top here will without a doubt gain major points among consumers.
Battery life: Lastly we come to battery life. With the New iPad 3 boasting significant battery life despite its LTE radios (the iPad 3 is a capable of being a mobile LTE hotspot for a whopping 23 hours in a row), we can expect the iPhone 5 to end up with similar bragging rights. Android phones unfortunately have been notorious when it comes to the topic of battery life so here’s hoping the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a monster battery inside to avoid such criticism.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy S2 was awarded the title of best smartphone of the year at MWC 2012, the Galaxy S3 has some big shoes to fill.

Will iPhone 5 launch make Apple World’s First $1 Trillion Company?
Apple is taking giant leaps to become world’s first ever $1 trillion company. And iPhone 5 launch will help it further its goal. If the Cupertino, California based company maintains the spike in the value of its shares, it would enter the quadruple-digit territory very soon, analysts predict.
Apple has recorded record-breaking sales after the release of the latest iPad and iPhone, doubling profits and hauling in $46.3 billion in revenue. It then decided to dig in the nearly $100 billion cash store to begin a payment of quarterly dividend of $2.65 per share to its stockholders.
According to Reuters, Topeka analyst Brian White set a 12-month price target of $1,001 on Apple in a research note initiating coverage of the on Monday, putting Apple on the verge of stepping on the pedestal of becoming the world’s first!
In his note White had written, “Driven by an ever expanding portfolio of innovative products, a growing integrated digital grid, unmatched aesthetics and a brand that is able to touch the soul of consumers of all backgrounds, Apple fever is spreading like a wildfire around the world and we see no end in sight to this trend.”
Buoyed by the $1,000-a-share call, shares of Apple rallied to another all-time high on Tuesday, recently trading up 1.75% at $629.20. The Topeka Capital Markets price target implies a 61.8% surge from Monday’s closing price.
Reuters calculates that Apple’s median price target is just below $700.
Only last June Apple shares had traded as low as $310.50. If they hit $1,000, this would mean a tripling in record time in the economic history of US.
Apple has been in an upward swirl since it released the record sales figure of iPad and iPhone sales in January. At this speed, Apple shares will very soon overtake that of Google’s.
Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray state that a $1,000 share price (or more) is “nothing new to the Apple story” and predicted Apple becoming the first public company to have a trillion dollar market capitalization.
Besides overtaking Google on the share price, Apple would also shatter the record held by Microsoft of being a publicly traded company reaching the value of $619 billion at one point.
In his elaborate note, talking how Aple is a very good candidate to shatter records in the near future, Munster wrote, “We believe shares of Apple will reach $1,000 in calendar year 2014, which would imply a roughly 1 trillion dollar market cap, the first in history. While some investors believe the biggest issue for Apple to get to $1,000 is the market cap along with excessive investor exuberance, we believe the real story is earnings growth. Fundamentally, we believe shares can reach $1,000 based on our belief Apple will continue to win in global mobile devices.
“Despite the law of large numbers, we believe the opportunity in mobile devices (iPhone and iPad) are big enough for Apple to grow earnings by 20% plus over the next three years, while our price target is based on a 12x earnings multiple. The bottom line, while it seems virtually every investor (professional and retail) and analyst has something positive to say about Apple, the multiple on shares does not suggest there is excessive investor exuberance,” Munster concluded.

IPhone 5 Release Date: 15 June Looks Probable
IPhone 5 Release Date: 15 June Looks Probable
The latest addition to the long list of speculations is the launch of the most-hyped iPhone on June 15, the last day of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The latest information came from iPhone 5 News Blog, which has cited “inside source” in Asia to get the report that a June release date for iPhone 5 seemed likely.
Reportedly, Apple’s traditional developers’ expo this year will run from June 11 through 15, and the rumor mill is already churning about the anticipated launch of the purported iPhone 5 during that time.
Apple has always been unpredictable when it comes to packing in features and releasing its devices.
The same happened last time when Apple fanboys were predicting and expecting the release of iPhone 5. Apple released a meager upgrade of the existing iPhone 4, dubbed as iPhone 4S instead of the talked-about iPhone 5. This time too, while enthusiasts were expecting to see iPad 3 Apple changed the name of the device and launched it as New iPad.
Some experts believe that Apple will maintain the same launch cycle in the coming years, offering each new iPhone at least one-year life. If this theory is to be believed, then Apple fans have to wait for another six months to see the new iPhone. Also, it seems right for Apple to provide their fans with enough leeway to be able to afford the next device as well as shareholders to make maximum profit out of the device.
Therefore, the bottom line is, whatever we speculate, the company, which has always been known for being unpredictable, will continue to be so and will surprise us pleasantly for sure.
Now let’s give a look at the design concepts and features of the most-anticipated phone of the year. As we always say, read all these features with a pinch of salt (we accept by now our readers have heightened their blood pressure level with so much salt!)
Fans clamoring for the unreleased iPhone have already developed eighteen gorgeous concept designs. That again proves how strong the Apple frenzy is!

Apple’s iPhone 5: What it will need to succeed in 2013
With the new iPad 3 officially launched all eyes are now looking to Apple’s next big release: the iPhone 5.
So far not much is known about Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone but we have heard numerous reports from a variety of reliable sources that claim the device will be launched around June 2012.
But the big question on everybody’s lips is this: Will the iPhone 5 be a true update – i.e. one that looks different and also features new hardware – or will Apple simply stick with the 2010 iPhone design?
Now we know Apple is fond of its incremental updating process where each new iOS device slowly builds on the last by adding new components and hardware, like the new iPad’s Retina Display and the iPhone 4S’ Siri assistant.
This time should be different, though, because Apple has effectively exhausted the current design by producing two handsets back-to-back that looked identical. It cannot afford to release another iPhone that looks like the current model – it would be suicide.
The new iPhone 5, therefore, has to represent a dramatic change. A mere glance at the iPhone 4S next to the HTC One X illustrates this point profoundly. The iPhone of old is finally beginning to look its age.
Should Apple choose to ignore the demand’s of its customers, which, lets be honest, is very likely based on the company’s past behaviour, then 2012 could very well be the year that Apple’s brand appeal starts to lose its allure, just as IBD predicted back in January.
Here’s what we want from the iPhone 5:
New design
This should be paramount on Apple’s list. The original iPhone 4 design, whilst being exceptionally beautiful, is now starting to lose some of its initial appeal when viewed next to Samsung and HTC’s latest range of Android super phones.
This isn’t all that surprising when you think about it. The original iPhone 4 is now two years old. Yet despite its age the design is still popular and the iPhone 4S is still one of the best selling smartphones on the planet – a fitting testament to Apple’s innovative design principles.
But after two years we’re more than ready for a change. So expect to see a vastly different looking iPhone 5 device with a bigger display, larger dimensions and that all-important ultra-thin profile we’ve come to expect from Apple smartphones.

Verizon Wireless: The Best Way To Invest In The iPhone 5 Release
With the iPhone 5 release being rumored for sometime in June it is time to start deciding what the best investment is for the release. Many people would say Apple (AAPL) is the best investment because it’s an Apple product. However, the average investor cannot afford to buy many Apple shares with its high price of over $600. So where can these average investors put their money so that they can possibly profit off the iPhone 5 release? The next best choice besides Apple would be the companies who sell these phones, the wireless phone providers. The two most notable are ATT (T) and Verizon Wireless (VZ).
All values were gathered from finviz.com
The financial ratios of ATT and Verizon do not reveal much about which is the better company to invest in. The only factors that really stand out are ATT’s current ratio and Verizon’s Debt/Equity ratio. ATT’s current ratio is a problem because according to that ratio ATT can only pay back three-fourths of its current liabilities. A company should at the very least be able to cover its current liabilities. Although to be fair, Verizon can just barely cover its current liabilities. Verizon’s Debt/Equity ratio is another cause for concern. A Debt/Equity ratio of 1.53 means Verizon has quite a bit of debt to take care of which could be a bad sign for the future. Other than these two ratios, both companies pay decent dividends which is a plus for long term investing.
With the ratios not giving a definitive answer as to who the iPhone 5 winner may be, it only makes sense to look at the company as a whole. One important factor of the iPhone 5 release is the rumor that it will have 4G LTE capabilities. This makes sense since the new iPad also had 4G LTE capabilities. When talking about LTE, Verizon is the clear short term winner. Verizon has had, and will continue to have, better LTE coverage than ATT. Although ATT is aggressively working on LTE technology and coverage, it will not be able to stand up to Verizon’s coverage for at least another year, which could hinder its iPhone 5 sales.
Another factor to look at is the data plan costs for each company. Both ATT and Verizon offer similar data plans at similar prices, however, Verizon excels with its 10GB data plan for $80/month. ATT’s highest smart phone data plan is 5GB for $50 with a $10 charge for each additional GB of data. Therefore, in order to get 10GBs of data with ATT, the cost would be $100 which includes the $50 charge for the first 5GB and the extra $10 per GB charge for the extra 5GBs.
All things considered I believe Verizon Wireless comes out on top for the iPhone 5 launch in June. Verizon has better LTE coverage and better data plans that will bring in the same people as ATT’s data plans, but will also capture those who have a very high usage of data. With both companies being fairly similar I believe that more consumers will go to Verizon for the larger coverage of 4G LTE (which is 10 times faster than 3G). Therefore, Verizon Wireless is the better investment to prepare for the iPhone 5 launch in June.
Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours.

Sprint iPhone 5 Only US iPhone Model To Avoid New iPad 3 LTE Woes?
The New iPad 3 has been heralded as the best tablet on the market right now. While it does suffer for some small issues like battery charging times and overheating, one of the biggest complaints with the New iPad has to do with how quickly it manages to hit data caps when it comes to 4G LTE data.
Sprint iPhone 5 may be only US iPhone with unlimited 4G LTE data
Targeted mainly as a media consumption device, it comes as no surprise that many users are reportedly finishing their unlimited data plan within days. Now with the iPhone 5 expected to launch next anytime this year, and come with LTE capabilities just like its sibling, we may see this problem affect many more millions of users.
The iPhone 5, as one would expect, will find itself outside of WiFi areas more often than the iPad 3 when being used. As such, we will be seeing many more users affected by the LTE data caps, that is unless they are on Sprint.
According to a recent statement from Sprint, their 4G LTE data plans will be unlimited. This would make them the only carrier in the US that is expected to get an iPhone 5 and offer unlimited 4G LTE data.
The big question here though is. Will Sprint’s LTE network be able to offer widespread coverage by the time the iPhone 5 launches, and whether that will be enough of an incentive for iPhone buyers to consider switching away from the two largest carriers in the US.

5 Hot iPhone Apps that Android Still Lacks
With Instagram’s arrival on Android, some snobbish iPhone users are making their disdain known for the new users who they claim are crowding and disrupting the Instagram social order.
“Dont follow me on instagram if you have an android….. Ew,” one iPhone user wrote on Twitter according to BuzzFeed, which has collected dozens of angry reactions from folks who hoped Instagram would remain an iPhone-exclusive club. The Twitter account @AndroidAGram is also collecting reactions.
Indeed, iPhone users are running out of exclusive apps to gloat about. But there are still a handful of iPhone exclusives to make Android users jealous. Here are five hot iPhone apps you still can’t get on Android.
![]()
The tech press’ darling news reader first launched for the iPad in 2010, and made its way to the iPhone last year. What’s neat about Flipboard is how it creates a magazine-like reading format for content from social networks, RSS feeds and curated news sources. The nearest equivalent for Android users is Zite, which just launched in the Google Play store last week.
![]()
If iPhone users want an exclusive club, they might still find it in Pinterest, the social network that lets users pin photos, videos and links to their own virtual wall of favorite things. Although anyone with an invite to the service can access it through the Web, for now the official mobile app is only available for iPhone.
Tweetbot
![]()
Twitter power users with Android phones might yearn for the slick interface of Tweetbot, which uses swipe-based shortcuts for replying, retweeting and viewing full conversation threads. And unlike Twitter’s official app, Tweetbot doesn’t try to shove popular hashtags down your throat.
Jetpack Joyride
![]()
Android users finally got one of the hottest time-wasters last month with the arrival of Temple Run, but they’re still missing out on Jetpack Joyride. While careening by jetpack through an endless laboratory, players must dodge obstacles while completing missions and racking up coins for better gear. Like Temple Run, one game is never enough.
Infinity Blade
![]()
If there’s one iPhone game that should made serious Android gamers jealous, it’s Infinity Blade and its sequel. The core game consists of one-on-one swordfighting, where swipes and taps fend off your opponent’s attacks. Meanwhile, a system of loot-gathering and leveling up is the glue that holds the game together. Publisher Epic said last year that it has no plans to bring Infinity Blade to Android, because the wide variety of hardware doesn’t offer a consistent enough experience across all devices.

iPhone 5 becomes PRO-spec DSLR with attachment – maybe
Choi Jinyoung has come up with the iPhone PRO, a DSLR lens concept that quite simply clips on and includes both a 1.2MP 3D camera and removable hard disk. It also gives us a rear connection point which would then mean it could be used for, perhaps, a projector.
It’s all very space age and certainly grabs the attention but we can’t help wondering if it’s a little too space age. For example, the whole point in people shooting with their phones is that they’re portable. This lens is hardly that meaning if you’re a serious photographer, why lug this around with you to clip onto a phone when a DSLR camera probably won’t be that much more inconvenient. Not that we’re experts in photography as we’re sure some of you are. But can you see it working? Would you buy one? Let us know below. Via 9to5Mac
We can’t quite work out if this looks really cool or really weird. The iPhone 5 hasn’t even been announced yet and heaven knows what it’s going to look like. But even still, a designer has created this concept for it.

iPhone 5: What’s New ?
iPhone 5: What’s New ?
The Iphone 5 was expected to be released with the new iOS 5 but complications happened which made the release of the iphone 5 with iOS 5 impossible in Apple’s eyes. So here we have the Iphone 4S, which to many was a major disappointment. Most people were expecting more from one of the world’s biggest and most technologically influential companies to date. The day the Iphone 4s was announced, Apple’s stock plummeted and for good reason. While the Iphone 4s does offer performance upgrades and added features, it was not enough according to the majority of Iphone enthusiasts. While it isn’t the first time Apple released an ‘S’ version in between official versions, it was the fact that it was so out of the blue and unexpected it has shocked people and Apple’s stock.
That’s exactly what we can expect, according to CNET.
